Learn to play Naruto Card Game (Bandai)
New to the Bandai NARUTO CARD GAME? Start by understanding what your Leader protects, how to bring Characters onto the board and when to spend Chakra. This guide introduces the demo experience available on ExBurst; the interactive tutorial then lets you perform the moves yourself.

Your goal and your cards
Reduce the opposing Leader’s Life to zero while protecting your own. Your Leader determines your deck’s colour. Characters fight on the board; some can also be used for Support effects. EX Characters have special summoning requirements. Chakra and the Summon card are separate resources with different jobs.
Set up and read the board
The announced standard setup uses a Leader, a 50-card deck, five Chakra cards and a Summon card. ExBurst uses smaller Naruto and Sasuke demonstration decks for practice. Locate your hand, Character area, Support area and discard pile before choosing a move. The first tutorial lesson highlights each zone.
Summoning and Chakra are different
In the demonstration rules, a normal summon uses your Summon card; it does not spend Chakra. You normally get one normal summon per turn. Keep Chakra available for Support effects. Setting a Support face down prepares a later response; check the card’s timing and cost before activating it. EX summons require the conditions printed on the card.
Choose your attack carefully
An attack rests your Character. Against a Character, compare POW with the target’s HP; against the Leader, use DMG. For example, a Character with DMG 2 deals two damage to the Leader, regardless of its POW. A newly summoned Character normally cannot attack immediately unless an ability allows it. The tutorial teaches which enemy Characters are valid targets.
Respond and resolve the chain
An attack or effect can give the other player an opportunity to respond. Read the available response window, check your remaining Chakra and decide whether to commit a Support. Responses resolve in reverse order. Do not assume the first announced effect happens first, or that every card can be played at any time.
Play your first practice match
Follow the eight lessons in order: board, card types, setup, summoning, attacking, Chakra and Supports, responses, then victory. Choose the Naruto or Sasuke demo deck for a match against AI. Start by asking: can I summon, who can attack, and should I save Chakra? Return to a lesson when a rule is unclear; puzzles provide additional situations to solve.
Common beginner mistakes
Do not confuse POW with damage to the Leader, spend Chakra as though it were the normal-summon resource, or assume a newly summoned Character can attack. Before passing, check your opponent’s rested Characters and your face-down Supports. This guide covers the current demonstration, not every future card or tournament interaction.
